A STEP BACKWARD, A LEVEL HIGHER

this one statement pm lee hsien long conveyed during his first national rally speech (SONA sa pinas) made most of us here grin in satisfaction.

the intent is to trim down the syllabus (with substance intact) by doing away with redundancies and finding more effective ways of teaching. they will also beef up the teaching force to hit a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:19 at the primary level, and 1:16 at secondary. this would free up students to absorb other "life lessons", enjoy their childhood without compromising their future and boost creative thinking.
